Professor Dorothy Limunga Njeuma née Effange, Member of the Electoral Board of Elections Cameroon (ELECAM), regrets to announce the death of her husband, Professor Martin Zachary Mondinde Njeuma, in Yaounde on 28 April 2010 as a result of illness at the age of 70 years.
Professor Njeuma was an internationally renowned Professor of History, former Head of the History Department and Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Human Sciences of the University of Yaounde, pioneer Dean of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Buea and Professor at the University of Ngaoundere in Cameroon and many universities in Africa, Europe and the United States of America.. He was a member of many boundaries commissions, including that between Nigeria, Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea and the Lake Chad Basin Commission. He trained numerous Cameroonians, many of whom have become distinguished academics and senior officials of the Republic. He was the author of many books and scholarly articles.

Thursday, 27 May 2010:
7 – 8 pm: Mass without corpse at his Etoa Meki residence in Yaounde.
Friday, 28 May 2010:
9 am: Removal of remains from the Yaounde Reference Hospital mortuary
10 am – 11:30 am: Academic honours at the University of Yaounde I
12 noon: Departure to Buea for wake-keeping
6 pm: Arrival in Buea. Laying in state at family residence in Small Soppo, Buea
8 pm – 10 pm: Joint Catholic-Presbyterian Wake Service in Small Soppo, Buea
10 pm – 1 am: Cultural animation
Saturday, 29 May 2010:
10 am: Family photographs
11 am: Procession to St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Buea Town
12 noon: Holy Mass at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Buea Town
2:30 pm: Burial at Buea Town cemetery.
Reception and departure of mourners.
